NEET 2019: Know all About the Exam

NEET 2019 (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) will be organized by the NTA (National testing agency) this year which was earlier held by CBSE, twice in a year in the online mode. It is the only national-level medical entrance exam that provides admission in MBBS, BDS & Ayush courses offered by all India Medical Colleges. NEET 2019 first exam will be held between 03 Feb 2019 and 17 Feb 2019. The second exam will be held from 12 May 2019 to 26 May 2019. There are big changes for all NEET 2019 aspirants! What is New in NEET 2019?

If you are preparing for NEET 2019, you need to be familiar with the following changes:
  • NEET 2019 will be held in online mode

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must know the eligibility specified by NTA and check if they are eligible to apply for the test or not. The eligibility criteria for NEET 2019 are mentioned below:
  • Age limit of the candidate must be between 17 to 25 years as on or before December 31, 2019
  • Other nationals can also apply by proving their identity for the same
  • The J & K candidates are also eligible to apply for 15% of All India Quota

NEET 2019 Application Form

The application process will be held through the online mode only. Students can download the application form from the official website of NTA. Candidates can apply for the same by filling in the mandatory fields mentioned in the form. Filing in any invalid detail can lead to the rejection of your candidature. Fill in every detail carefully as no chances will be given to correct or re-edit the same. Candidates are advised to take out the printed copy of the payment receipt of the fee they paid for the application.

Application FEE

  • For General/ OBC Candidates – Rs. 1400/-
  • For SC/ST/PH Candidates – Rs. 750/-
The application fee must be paid through online mode only, i.e. Debit/Credit card, UPI or E-Wallet. The application fee is non-refundable.

Admit Card

The candidates who have applied for NEET 2019, will be able to generate the Admit Card for NEET 2019. The Admit Card will be released online on the official website. Candidates can download the Admit Card from the website by entering their Application Number and Date of Birth. Admit Card is a mandatory document that every candidate must carry at the time of the examination. Any candidates who fail to bring in the Admit Card will be prohibited to take the NEET 2019 examination.

Exam Pattern

As per the previous year, the CBSE has designed an Exam Pattern for NEET. This year there might be some changes in the pattern of the examination as NTA will conduct the NEET 2019. The Exam pattern mentioned below is according to the NEET 2018.
  • Mode: The examination will be computer-based
  • Type of question paper: Objective type (MCQ)
  • Duration: The duration of the exam will be 3 hours
  • Number of Questions: There will be total of 180 questions

Marking Scheme

  • For every correct answer, 4 marks will be awarded
  • For every wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted
  • If any question is unanswered, neither will be awarded nor will be deducted

Syllabus

The syllabus for NEET 2019 will help you to score well in the examination. It covers all the important topic from the point of view of the exam. If you prepare according to the curriculum designed by the conducting body then chances will be higher of clearing the examination.
The syllabus mentioned below is as per the CBSE guidelines if there will be any changes made by NTA in the syllabus then it will be updated here.
Physics: Physical world and measurement, Laws of Motion, Motion of System of Particles and Rigid Body, Properties of Bulk Matter, Behaviour of Perfect Gas and Kinetic Theory, Electrostatics, Magnetic Effects of Current and Magnetism, Electromagnetic Waves, Dual Nature of Matter and Radiation, Electronic Devices.
Chemistry: Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry, Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties, States of Matter: Gases and Liquids, Equilibrium, Hydrogen, p-Block Elements, Hydrocarbons, Solid State, Electrochemistry, Surface Chemistry, p-Block Elements, Coordination Compounds, Alcohols, Phenols and Ethers, Organic Compounds Containing Nitrogen.
Biology (Botany + Zoology): Diversity in Living World, Cell Structure and Function, Human Physiology, Structural Organization in Animals and Plants, Plant Physiology, Reproduction, Biology and Human Welfare, Ecology and Environment, Genetics and Evolution, Biotechnology and Its Applications.

Result

The NTA will declare the Result of NEET 2019 on the official website. Candidates who have appeared for the exams only they would be able to check the result. To check the Result, candidates must log in to the website by entering their Roll Number as ID and Date of Birth as password and then you can download the result. It will show the marks obtained and the rank received by the candidate.

Counseling

The candidates who will be shortlisted for further admission process only they will be called in the counseling round. This year NTA will organize the counseling process. The NEET 2019 result will declare the list of candidates and on this basis, the candidates will be called for counseling.
